Waste Management Team, Solomon Islands
Trinny Ta’ake is an integral part of our Waste Management facility in the Solomon Islands. He is responsible for collecting and segregating waste collected from the households participating in our weekly Waste Collection Service. After sorting, Trinny and the team clean the bags so they can be packed and ready for redistribution.
Trinny works for PCFML because he is passionate about keeping his local community clean and wants to set an example for other young people to be mindful of their waste.
“Protecting the ocean is important because if we do not manage our waste on land it will end up in the ocean. We also rely on marine resources so management of our waste on-land and practicing segregation is important”
