Lona Qoloni joined PCFML in February 2023, she lives in Tishi Height, on Gizo Island and is passionate about protecting marine species in her community.
Lona works in our Waste Collection facility to help collect, distribute, segregate and wash the rubbish collected from the households that take part in our weekly waste collection service.
Our plastic granulator machine will be used to turn collected waste into usable products, through a community-led social-enterprise model.
In Lona’s spare time, she likes to sew clothes, baskets and crochets to sell at the market.
“I want to help fight against the rise in sea levels as we depend on the ocean”.
