Kasey Turner

Growing up in New Zealand, Kasey was never far from the beach and grew up with a great respect and appreciation for the marine environment. As a keen scuba diver, Kasey describes the ocean has her personal sanctuary and any negativity can be cleansed with one simple dive under the waves.

Kasey has worked in marine education across a range of aquariums and became a facilitator for the Ocean Youth program, aimed at empowering young changemakers with the skills and knowledge to protect our future oceans.

Kasey became involved with Positive Change for Marine Life, as one of the first Global Ambassadors who travelled to India in 2017, to learn how we could implement a long-term plan to benefit both the local community and the marine environment they relied on. Kasey’s focus was on waste management, and during her time in Kerala, she met with local authorities and businesses to determine strategies to help with this issue, assisted local women employed to collect discarded waste, and delivered several presentations at local schools to help engage the community.

Seeing the vision developed as part of the masterplan, come to life over the last 5 years has been a powerful thing to witness. Kasey is so excited about what the future of Positive Change for Marine Life holds as she feels protecting our marine environments for future generations is more important now than ever.
