Waste Management Team, Solomon Islands
Jerold Bruno began working for PCFML in February 2023. He is a casual worker at our Waste Collection Facility on Gizo Island in the Solomon Islands.
Jerold is is an integral part of our Waste Management facility in the Solomon Islands. He is responsible for collecting and segregating waste collected from the households participating in our weekly Waste Collection Service. After sorting, Jerold and the team clean the bags so they can be packed and ready for redistribution.
He works for PCFML for a stable source of income and to promote how to “help clean our environment both land & sea and reduce the amount of waste in landfill.
Jerold is passionate about protecting our oceans because “the marine resources including our ocean depend on human beings and humans depend on the ocean for survival. We need healthy seas, beaches, coral, etc… as human activity toward the ocean can destroy or restore the oceans”.
