Waste Management Team, Solomon Islands
Filma Alenia began working for PCFML in November 2022. She is a casual worker at our Waste Collection Facility on Gizo Island in the Solomon Islands. She is 21 years old and lives in Malakerava 3, Gizo Residential Area.
Filma is an integral part of our Waste Management facility in the Solomon Islands. She is responsible for collecting and segregating waste collected from the households participating in our weekly Waste Collection Service. After sorting, Agii and the team clean the bags so they can be packed and ready for redistribution.
She works for PCFML for a stable source of income and to promote how to “recycle waste instead of throwing it to the landfill.
Filma is passionate about protecting our oceans because “our children and marine species need clean and healthy sea for recreation”.
