Rewilding our Floodplains Australia Manager

Dr Zeke Davidson is our Rewilding our Floodplains Australia Manager, a conservation biologist with marine and terrestrial experience and a special interest in the socio-spatial ecology of native wildlife.

Zeke has worked across Africa and in Australia on wildlife ecology, density, and distribution, and as a grad student, logged a season on the Antarctic ice shelf and the Southern Ocean, studying surface water carbon sequestration before climate change was ‘a thing’.

Arriving in Australia in the wake of the 2019 wildfire, flood and drought emergencies brought on by the climate crisis, followed by the COVID-19 pandemic, Zeke saw the surreal resurgence of wildlife and ecosystems we witnessed under lockdown as powerful planetary messages demonstrating how fast nature restores itself when given the space to do it.

Zeke is skilled in landscape, wildlife and ecosystem monitoring and evaluation. Designing, implementing and reporting on large-scale projects in extensive landscapes. He is a member of IUCN and national technical specialist groups, committees, and task forces.

He is adept at mentoring and developing team capabilities, working with small and large teams and is comfortable in remote and isolated as well as highly networked, collaborative environments. He leads our Australian Rewilding teams across NSW and QLD, Australia.

Our global programs need your support, help us make positive change for people and planet.
