Gold Coast taking up the challenge

Over the past few years Positive Change for Marine Life has run a number of events in the Gold Coast region to raise awareness of, and mitigate the long-term impacts of marine debris on marine ecosystems. Late last year we took part in the first ever Eco Market in Southport on the Gold Coast. We raised over $800 from our stall alone and had nearly 40 people sign-up to volunteer! The enthusiasm of locals was so much so, that we have formed an ongoing team on the Gold Coast who are focused on mitigating marine debris through regular beach surveys at Miami Headland, as well as a number of other initiatives, including education workshops, single-use plastic free and community outreach programs.

Watch this space for regular monthly cleans and activities coming very soon as our Gold Coast Team gets organised to Honour the Ocean across the Gold Coast to increase community awareness, education and marine conservation outcomes!
