A few months ago we were contacted by Yoga for Nature, a social enterprise that focuses on giving back through reaching out to yoga practitioners and studio's around the world to bring about 'social change and a mindful path to caring for the environment.'
With the generosity of partner studios, the proceeds from a dedicated regular Yoga for Nature class enable Yoga for Nature to then create inspiring films and award production grants to conservation groups and organisations.
We are pleased to announce that Yoga for Nature will be supporting us as one of their partner organisations in 2017 to create a documentary on our Marine Conservation Strategic Masterplan in India with our global partner Sebastian Social Indian Projects! With our initial Global Ambassador Adventure taking place this February, Yoga for Nature will join us, our full-time on-ground interns and our expert team during our second trip to Kovalam later in the year.
The documentary will raise vital awareness to our project and our aim to build support and awareness of the work that we are doing to enhance marine conservation outcomes, whilst supporting local employment, education and other economic opportunities. The documentary will also raise the profile of our partner organisation SISP, who have been working on the ground in Kovalam for over 15 years to provide social good opportunities to those most in need.
We are asking for the yoga community to support us with this vital project by becoming a Yoga for Nature partner studio. You can apply to host a Yoga for Nature class here - in turn, Yoga for Nature will promote your studio and the fantastic work that you are doing in turning yoga practise into positive environmental and social action!
Thanks for your support and please spread the word amongst yogi's and yoga studios near you!
