Smoke Free Beaches - A Success Story in Byron Bay!

Over the past year, Zoe White, our Byron Bay Co-ordinator, has worked with Kate Akkerman from Byron Shire Council and NSW EPA to conduct a range of trials and strategies in attempt to reduce cigarette butt litter across the Byron Shire. The result = a reduction in cigarette butt litter, a smoking ban on the Shire’s beaches and education programs that are driving long-term change!

On 25th August, Positive Change for Marine Life collaborated with local marine conservation organisations and the Byron Bay community to raise awareness for our mother ocean. The event was called Festival For The Seas and took place at the funky Byron Bay Brewery.
