Over the past three months our team in India has been forming alliances with local organisations, government agencies and community groups, as well as undertaking beach surveys and brand audits to determine the best way to tackle the myriad of pollution and waste management issues currently facing the marine environment here.

Our teams in India and Australia celebrated World Ocean’s Day in style. Raising awareness through a fundraising event in Byron Bay, and presenting at the Ocean Love Conference in India to CEO’s from various businesses across Kerala, working toward minimising their plastic use.

Back in India: An analysis of Gangaya estuary in Vizhinjam

Our team has recently returned in India to set-up our full-time Marine Conservation Centre and programs. We were lucky enough to have our friend Matth, an environmental engineer from Belgium, along to assist us in analysing the the Gangaya River and estuary, which feeds directly into the ocean at Vizhinjam Harbour. The waterway is a dumping ground for rubbish, sewage and chemical waste.
