Our northern NSW team had such a productive day on the Brunswick River in Mullumbimby last Sunday.

Within 3 hours we’d collected over 135 kg of rubbish, adding to our total of >5,500 pieces of debris removed from the Bruns so far!

All of our survey data will go towards a Marine Debris Report Card and State of Marine Debris Report, highlighting pollution hotspots and sources of debris in an effort to combat them. Phase II and Phase III of the project will then tackle the issue at its source, utilising a variety of community outreach and physical mitigation methods. All of our data is also uploaded into the Australian Marine Debris Initiative database, which maps debris across the country.
