This year we celebrated World Oceans Day over an entire week at primary schools across the Gold Coast!
We presented on marine debris and our River Warriors program at Elanora State School, Palm Beach State School, Tallebudgera State School and Ingleside State School to over 600 kids! They were so engaged and aware and genuinely cared about making a difference and getting involved. Many schools that we present to already have composting, veggie gardens and recycling systems in their schools, which one teacher at Palm Beach last week told us has reduced their landfill by over 400%!
This is the change that we need. The next generation keeps us hopeful that we can address the damage that we've done to the environment and move forward towards a brighter future.
A huge thanks to Tallebudgera Beach Outdoor Education School for supporting our programs and to the Queensland Government for supporting our River Warriors initiative on Tallebudgera Creek through their CSA Grants Program.
