Commencing in March of this year, our Redlands River Warriors team have been kicking goals by removing vast amounts of rubbish from the popular Tingalpa Creek in the Redland City region near Brisbane. Made up of a variety of passionate local volunteers, they’ve battled plagues of mosquitos, fought against strong tidal currents and waded through waste-deep mud to retrieve day-to-day rubbish items that should have simply been disposed of correctly, or better yet, not been purchased in the first place!

Smoke Free Beaches - A Success Story in Byron Bay!
Over the past year, Zoe White, our Byron Bay Co-ordinator, has worked with Kate Akkerman from Byron Shire Council and NSW EPA to conduct a range of trials and strategies in attempt to reduce cigarette butt litter across the Byron Shire. The result = a reduction in cigarette butt litter, a smoking ban on the Shire’s beaches and education programs that are driving long-term change!
