Having grown up in Switzerland, Sophie has always loved being in nature. Spending such a large chunk of her childhood in a country continuously ranked as one of the most sustainable in the world, Sophie’s consciousness of looking after the planet has been present all her life.

She’s traveled extensively across all the world and experienced some of the planet’s most spectacular natural wonders. Because of these experiences, Sophie’s deeply passionate about protecting the environment.

It was a ‘wild swimming’ trip to the Sea of Cortez (once named by Jacques Cousteau as 'the world's aquarium’), experiencing rich marine life including bioluminescence, sea lion colonies and pod after pod of whales that caused the biggest spark in her heart. The Sea of Cortez, although now also with many species under threat, gave her a reality check of the rapidly depleting marine life and increasing pollution in other parts of the world. Spending a year in Indonesia solidified those feelings and Sophie’s passion for marine conservation grew exponentially. That year included countless beach clean ups and a growing desire to be more heavily involved in positive changes for marine life.

Sophie loves spending time in or around water, whether its open water swimming, Stand Up Paddle Boarding or having a quick dip just to get the water through her gils!
