Conservation & Community Development Officer - India
Born in Bangalore, Karnataka and studying in, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, Vivek graduated from a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Marketing and Cooperation (B.Sc.Ag.Maco) from the University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad (UASD) and subsequently completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Forestry Management (PGDFM) with a specialisation in Conservation and Livelihood (C and L) from the Indian Institute of Forest Management(IIFM), Bhopal.
Vivek has a strong interest in ecology and understands the challenges that many local communities are facing around our target region, through a number of community studies that he undertook as part of his Masters degree. Vivek is multilingual and can speak five languages - Hindi, English, Malayalam, Kannada and Tamil.
Vivek has hands-on experience in vermicomposting, biofertilizer production, bio-insecticide production and bio-fungicide production and was involved in putting together a village profile for Majam village in Udaipur district, Rajasthan where he used various Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) techniques for Sewa Mandir.
