Don’t be a sucker coordinator - brisbane

Bec is fuelled by a passion to create a kinder, more compassionate world. Her love of animals and the natural world spans decades and was cemented by volunteer work in Africa, research expeditions searching for Minke Whales in the Great Barrier Reef and an insatiable desire to travel and explore the world.

She has a background in Nursing and has managed teams and developed education programs in various roles throughout her career. She believes education is paramount to creating awareness and, ultimately, change. Bec's background has enabled her to provide strategic direction and leadership, in a volunteer capacity, to various marine and animal protection campaigns over the past 10 years.

Bec has participated in many aspects of animal and environmental advocacy - including speaking at conferences, acting as media spokesperson, representing PCFML during the UNESCO/IUCN Great Barrier Reef monitoring mission, organising rallies and influencing policy makers.

She is passionate about shark protection, marine debris, reducing our reliance on single-use plastics and has undertaken subjects in Marine Science to further explore this.

When she isn't working or volunteering, she is usually planning her next trip, cooking, rescuing stray animals and dreaming about diving with sharks!
