Our Seawall Mural in the fishing village of Vizhinjam in southern India.

Are you a painter, illustrator or graffiti artist? Have a knack for creativity and want to get your work out there to tens of thousands of people?

We are currently seeking an artist to paint our ocean pledge wall at Splendour in the Grass for this year's festival! The successful applicant will preferably be locally based or able to get to Byron Bay to create our Seawall Mural titled Leave No Trace for this year's festival.

The aim of the wall is to invite festival goers to take the pledge to Leave No Trace by:

1) Minimising usage of single-use both at the festival and beyond;

2) Recycling and being waste wise, whilst encouraging others to do the same;

3) Taking EVERYTHING that they brought into the festival OUT OF THE FESTIVAL.

Participants in the project will have their photo's taken via polaroid ($5 to keep) or digitally (free - uploaded online to our pledge album on social media). Photo pledges will be taken in front of the completed seawall mural and copies of polaroid's will be strung up on the seawall and at our Positive Change for Marine Life stall.

Splendour in the Grass - have your artwork viewed by up to 30,000 people!

The successful applicant will paint our seawall mural (10 x 10 feet) with images that represent Byron Bay's unique marine life and biodiversity, whilst highlighting the impacts that our waste has on the sea through images of marine debris ingestion and pollution.

The final artwork and artist's branding will be on display to be viewed by up to 30,000 participants at the festival and have the opportunity to be shown on national and international media, as well as through various online platforms. We will select the winning entry based on the entrants artistic flair and the ability to capture the spirit of Byron Bay and the threat of marine debris through their work. Positive Change for Marine Life will cover all associated costs to produce the artwork.

To apply, please fill out the form below and we will get back to you as soon as possible. Entries close July 5, 2017.
