Marine Debris School Holiday Workshops!

  • Apex Park Byron Bay Australia

BEACH CLEAN UP * LIVE MUSIC * MARINE SCIENCE EDUCATION PROGRAMS * ART MAKING WORKSHOP

Join us these school holidays as we take on ocean pollution head on at Main Beach in Byron Bay!

Get your tickets here as places are strictly limited!

Our school holiday workshops are designed for 5 - 12 year olds and will be a fun, inclusive and creative way for kids to learn about marine debris and pollution, whilst getting to take home an ocean themed artwork that they can make themselves from the trash that we've collected during our regular beach surveys.

The day will run from 10am - 1pm on Saturday July 15th (the first workshop will be held on Saturday July 8th if you can't make the 15th).

We'll be running a special beach clean-up for participants, there'll be live marine themed music from Byron's very own Luke Bennett (who will be playing at Splendour in the Grass!), as well as marine education workshops from our oceanographer Marie Paquette and our Honour the Ocean Byron team. To wrap-up we'll be leading a fun, creative marine debris art workshop where kids will get to make and take home marine-themed artworks from the trash that we've collected from our regular beach surveys. Upcycling in action!

Places are strictly limited so please book in advance. Tickets are only $10 and cover the materials used. Any excess donations go directly back into our local Honour the Ocean campaign.
